Brenda Gilmore celebrates after hearing results at the Gilmore campaign
headquarters on Charlotte Avenue in Nashville on Thursday, August 3, 2006. MANDY LUNN / THE TENNESSEAN
Dear Friends & Supporters,
It is with great appreciation and deep sincerity that I extend a hearty "THANK YOU" to every single individual offering me a show of support during my bid for State Representative, District 54.
We were committed to running a positive campaign focused on solving issues through constructive discussions. It echoed our theme "It's time for change. It's time for progress!" and now that you have entrusted me with representing you in this capacity, I will do everything in my power to ensure that our voices are heard and our concerns are addressed.
Anyone who has ever ran a political race or have participated in one knows it's not easy. But when you have a great support base, it makes it easier – giving you the strength to keep fighting. For every single individual who offered to help in some way – no matter how big or small – please know that your kindness, generosity and support does not go unnoticed. For every contribution that was made to this campaign, I say "THANK YOU!" From the monetary donations to hosting fundraisers to putting up signs to making phone calls to setting up poll rides to sending letters and e-mails to simply offering words of encouragement, your support really made the difference.
Now that the campaigning has ended, the real work begins. It is my goal to reach out to residents of District 54 to re-introduce myself and to solicit your thoughts and ideas on how we can make this area prosper. There are many universal concerns that require our attention, including education, economic and community development and health care. I look forward to hearing from you on these important issues.
Again, my thanks to ALL! I'm ready to work for YOU!
Sincerely,
Brenda Gilmore State Representative-Elect District 54 Tennessee House of Representatives |
